Weighted clothing: what it is and what the evidence says

What does research tell us?

Research on weighted vests includes small studies with differing results. Clothing, blankets and stuffed animals are different products, so evidence for one cannot be assumed to apply to another. Claims about neurotransmitter release, treating anxiety or improving sleep are not established for Flutterby products.

Evidence and limits

Studies of weighted vests have produced mixed findings in different groups. They do not establish that Flutterby hoodies treat anxiety, improve sleep, or work for every wearer. A vest study is not a clinical test of this product.
